    The state on Monday recorded 3 COVID-19 related deaths, pushing the death toll to 1,281 in the state.

    According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, one each was reported from East Khasi Hills district, West Jaintia Hills district and West Khasi Hills district.

    Dr War said the state has also detected 305 new COVID-19 cases.

    These include 138 in East Khasi Hills, 5 West Khasi Hills, 0 West Garo Hills, 105 Ri Bhoi, 19 West Jaintia Hills, 0 East Garo Hills, 0 North Garo Hills, 0 East Jaintia Hills, 0 South Garo Hills, 37 South West Khasi Hills and 1 South West Garo Hills.

    Dr War also informed that 434 persons have recovered from the viral infection.

    Of these, 198 East Khasi Hills, 69 West Garo Hills, 55 West Jaintia Hills, 52 West Khasi Hills, 1 East Garo Hills, 3 North Garo Hills, 2 South Garo Hills, 2 South West Garo Hills, 2 East Jaintia Hills, 28 Ri Bhoi and 22 South West Khasi Hills.

    So far, the state has detected a total of 74,070 COVID-19 cases out of which 2,930 are active cases, 69,859 recovered and 1,281 deaths.

    With 1,415 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by Ri Bhoi with 431 and West Jaintia Hills with 360 cases.

    There are 282 in West Khasi Hills, 163 West Garo Hills, 147 South West Khasi Hills, 37 East Jaintia Hills, 20 North Garo Hills, 24 East Garo Hills, 23 South West Garo Hills and 28 South Garo Hills.
