The Meghalaya Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. (MIDC) announces its recent achievement of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certifications, highlighting the Corporation’s focus on quality management and environmental sustainability. Notably, MIDC is the only state Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) in Meghalaya to have received both certifications, reinforcing its dedication to upholding international standards in its operations. This dual certification reflects the Corporation’s commitment to delivering high-quality services while minimising environmental impact.

The ISO 9001:2015 certification validates MIDC’s Quality Management System (QMS), confirming the Corporation’s ability to deliver high-quality services in plot allotment, loan processing for homes and businesses, and building construction. This certification highlights MIDC’s focus on continuous improvement and meeting international standards.

Similarly, the ISO 14001:2015 certification underscores MIDC’s emphasis on environmental responsibility. The Corporation’s Environmental Management System (EMS) adheres to ISO’s rigorous requirements, reflecting its dedication to reducing environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices.

James P. K Sangma, Chairman of MIDC, expressed his pride in achieving ISO certifications, stating, “As one of the oldest corporations in Meghalaya, I, along with my team, felt the need to pursue the ISO certifications to demonstrate the Corporation’s commitment to quality and environmental sustainability. I’m delighted that our efforts have led to this significant milestone. We’re dedicated to maintaining high standards and continuously seeking ways to improve our services while reducing our environmental impact.”

He added, “Since I became Chairman about a year ago, we’ve expanded our focus beyond our original mandate, exploring new projects and schemes to strengthen the industrial and economic development of Meghalaya.”

D D Nongmalieh, Managing Director of MIDC, added, “Earning these ISO certifications isn’t just about meeting a standard; it’s about setting a new benchmark for excellence across our operations. Our commitment to delivering top-quality services, efficiently and sustainably, has earned us these prestigious international certifications. This recognition confirms our role as a leading Industrial Development Corporation in the Northeast, and we intend to continue raising the bar in all we do, contributing to Meghalaya’s growth and development.”
