Meghalaya honeymoon murder case: Sonam, her lover Raj sent to 13 days judicial custody after SIT’s 10-day interrogation

Sonam Raghuvanshi and her lover Raj Singh Kushwaha on Saturday were sent to 13 judicial custody after the special investigation team (SIT) has completed ten days of interrogating them for their involvement in the recent murder of her husband (L) Raja Raghuvanshi at Sohra.
“The accused (Sonam and Raj) were produced today before the court as police custody is over. Both the accused were sent to 13 days judicial custody,” Assistant Public Prosecutor Tushar Chanda told reporters after coming out of the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CMJ).
Chanda informed that the state police has not sought for further custody of the two accused.
“They (police) just prayed for judicial custody and after hearing, court granted for 13 days judicial custody for both the accused,” he added.
According to Chanda, from the defence party, no legal aid was present during the hearing.
On Thursday, the three other accused persons – Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan and Anand Kurmi – were sent to 14 days judicial custody,
On Tuesday, the SIT had successful completed the reconstruction of the crime scene, which led to recovery of the second murder weapon from Weisawdong fall.
