Meghalaya Home Guards & Civil Defence Campus sealed after 29 COVID-19 positive cases

The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District on Monday has declared Home Guards & Civil Defence Campus, Mawdiangdiang as a containment zone after 29 persons were tested COVID-19 positive.

In an order issued, the District Magistrate said based on the report that 29 (twenty nine) persons were tested positive for COVID-19 in the Home Guards& Civil Defence Campus, Mawdiangdiang and in order to facilitate contact tracing, testing and isolation, the campus has been sealed to complete contact tracing and testing.

The order restrict unregulated entry and exit in the affected areas and no person shall be allowed to move into the containment area and inhabitants within the area shall not move out, besides all inhabitants within the containment area shall strictly remain inside their homes.

In another order, the District Magistrate has declared more houses as micro containment in Shillong.

New micro containment are namely:

Flat C3, Sutnga Apartment at Streamlet Road,  Laban.

House of Smt. S. Pyngrope at Amjad Ali Road, Laban.

House of Smt. S. M Iangrai at Lawsohtun Block-1.

House of Ruchilla Marak at Bishnupur Central, Near Municipal Water Tank.

House of Dolbi Massar at Bishnupur Central.

Residence of Kenneth Mawthoh at Dhanketi, Malki.

Residence of Ibaiahunlang Syiem at Cleve Colony.

Houses of Meteria Lyngdoh, Aioris Warjri, Jenisha Marboh, Badahun Nongrum, Teiborlang Khongsit, Keris War, Sarita Rana and Neru Devi at Nongrah Lummarboh. 

Further, the district magistrate has also lifted the containment order for the Compound of Emosila Sohtun and the House of Armanda Laloo at Lower Mawprem, House of Ranjan Nath near Puja Mandap at Upper Jail Road, House of Smt. M. Nongkynrih at Kynjat Phutbol, Block-A, House of Shri. R. Kharjana at Pdengshnong, Lower Mawprem and the Administrative Unit, Bull Farm Unit, Central Semen Bank Unit, Artificial Training Centre and Pig Farm Unit within the Office the Assistant Director of ICDP Farm under 5th Mile Village, Upper Shillong. 

The District Magistrate has also permitted resumption of operations of Laloo Cable of Yolande Laloo and Fast Food of  Sianmon Talang located at the upper level of Pavitra Joshi Compound, Pdengshnong, Lower Mawprem subject to strict compliance of all protocols and advisories of the Health & Family Welfare Department.
