Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui has ordered closure of all illegal coke factories operating in East Jaintia Hills district.

“I have directed the Superintendent of Police to take stern action by closing down all these illegal coke factories in that district,” Rymbui told reporters on Thursday.

He said the order was made after seeing the mushrooming of many illegal coke factories in the district while coming from Ratacherra on Wednesday.

The process of asking police to close down is a way of shirking responsibilities and to own up by all politicians. Every municipality ought to have their own mechanism to pull down structure buildings etc Labourers, bull dozers etc can be hired . Police which is meant for law & order management .They will have to employ labourers, bull dozers, trucks etc.Such actions by politicians merely serve to amuse the public knowing very well that’s it’s an eye wash n these coke users will like Lazarus rise from the ashes. And continue their activities.
