With an aim to intensify efforts towards eradicating STH (Soil Transmitted Helminths), the District Medical & Health Officer, East Khasi Hills, Shillong will organize National Deworming Day (NDD) from coming Monday in the entire district.

The National Deworming programme aims to deworm all children between the ages of 1-19 years in order to improve their overall well-being, nutritional status, access to education and quality of life.

Under this program, all children in the age group of 1-19 years of age are to be administered Albendazole tablets at School and Anganwadi centres.

The NDD will be followed by a mop-up-day (MOD) on the 21st April, with the intent of deworming children who missed the dose. All schools and Anganwadi Centres will be the implementation sites of NDD across the district.
