The Governor congratulated the toppers and meritorious students for their exceptional performance and encouraged them to continue their pursuit of excellence. “Many of you will go on to become doctors, engineers, scholars, and professionals who will make Meghalaya and the nation proud,” he said. He made special mention of students from tribal and remote areas who overcame several challenges to emerge victorious, describing their success as truly inspirational.

The Governor also appreciated the sustained efforts of MBOSE in maintaining integrity and quality in the conduct of examinations. He encourged the Board and academic institutions to align more closely with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, emphasizing holistic learning, skill development, and local context in curriculum delivery, ensuring that no child is left behind.

The main programme commenced at the Durbar Hall a vibrant cultural performance featuring a traditional Sikkimese dance, presented with the support of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Shillong. A brief documentary film showcasing the initiatives and achievements of MBOSE was also screened.

Delivering the keynote address, CP Marak, IFS, Chairman of MBOSE, congratulated the students and credited the academic success to collective efforts from educators, families, and institutions. He reiterated MBOSE’s commitment to transparency, innovation, and reforms in alignment with NEP 2020. It was followed by the distribution of certificates and cash awards to other meritorious students by the senior officials. Few students also delivered short speeches reflecting their journey, aspirations, and gratitude toward their schools, families, and the education department.

The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks by M. Marbaniang, Director, MBOSE. He stressed the importance of teacher training, inclusive education, and investing in digital infrastructure, especially in underserved areas.

The event served as a vibrant celebration of academic achievement and regional camaraderie, inspiring all stakeholders to work collectively toward a brighter, more inclusive educational future for Meghalaya.

The event also marked the celebration of the Foundation Day of Sikkim.
