Meghalaya Govt to take a call on 4 names shortlisted by a search panel for MSCW chairperson’s post

Social Welfare Minister Paul Lyngdoh on Friday informed that the government will soon decide on the appointment of a new chairperson of the Meghalaya State Commission for Women (MSCW).

Speaking to reporters, Lyngdoh said that the search committee has suggested the names of four persons.

“I will be sitting with the chief minister and after confabulation with him, we will be in a position to share this information  with you (on appointment of a new chairperson),” he said.

Lyngdoh also maintained that the process only involved the appointment of a chairperson and not the other members of the Commission as they are yet to complete their tenure.
