    Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui on Tuesday said the department has decided to allow students to write their Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examination for the remaining papers from their respective home district headquarters.

    Examinations for class-XII students for the remaining four subjects will be conducted by the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) on June 8, 9 and 10.

    The remaining subjects include mathematics, physical education, statistics, and western music. there are around 3,779 students who will sit for the examinations in 59 centres.

    Rymbui informed the decision was taken in view that there are many students who are studying outside their district and who have returned home due to the COVID-19 situation.

    “Therefore, the government has decided to allow such students to write their examination for the remaining papers from their respective home district headquarters,” he said.

    A notification issued by the education department however said that such facilities will not be available in the sub-division or block level.

    The minister further informed that to avail this facility, candidates are required to download the application format from MBOSE website (www.mbose.in) and filled applications may be sent via email on or before May 31.

    For Garo Hills region, students may send the application to to hsslctura@gmail.com and for Khasi and Jaintia Hills region to mboseshillong@gmail.com.
