    The Meghalaya Finance Department on Monday raised concern over insufficient budget provision for salaries by some departments of the Meghalaya Government.

    In a notification vide No.FIN(B)68/2021/89 Dated 13th February 2023, Finance Commissioner & Secretary Dr Vijay Kumar said it has come to the notice of Finance Department that some Departments have insufficient Budget Provision under ’01- Salaries’ for the Financial Year 2022-23.

    The notification said in this connection, in order to avoid delay in payment of Salaries, the Departments are allowed to draw above the Budget Provision under ’01- Salaries.’

    Further no Re-appropriation or Advance from Contingency Fund is required for Salaries expenditure (i.e. 01 Salaries).
