Meghalaya Govt exempted Special Branch, CID & 11 organizations from purview of RTI

The Meghalaya Government has notified a host of intelligency and security organisations of the Meghalaya Police from the purview of Right to Information Act, 2005 of Government of India as per sub-section (4) of section 24 of the Act.

The notification was issued vide no. HPL 269/2014/Pt-4/34. Dated 14 December, 2023.

The security organisation excluded from the purview of the RTI are Criminal investigation Department (CID), Meghalaya Police, Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Meghalaya Police, Anti Corruption Branch. Meghalaya Police , Special Force-10 (Commando Battaillon), Meghalaya, Indian Reserve Battalions. Meghalaya, Meghalaya Police Battalions, Crime Branch Police Station, Eastern Range, Crime Branch Police Station, Western Range, Meghalaya Police Radio Organization, Anti-infiltration Directorate Border, Offices of the Law and Order/DIG Ranges, Confidential Branch of Meghalaya Police Headquarters and Special Branch (SB), Meghalaya
