    On the final day of the swimming competition at the 6th Meghalaya Games, East Khasi Hills emerged as the dominant force, securing a total of 51 medals at the GTCC Shillong. Their impressive tally includes 19 gold, 16 silver, and 16 bronze medals.

    South West Khasi Hills earned one gold, three silver, and six bronze medals, totaling ten medals. East Jaintia Hills secured one gold and three silver medals, while Eastern West Khasi Hills claimed one gold and one bronze.

    Other districts, including East Garo Hills, West Garo Hills, Ri Bhoi District, and West Jaintia Hills, did not win any medals.

    Over two days, swimmers competed in 22 sections, including the Individual Medley, Butterfly stroke, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Freestyle, and relay events.

    During the Medal Ceremony, BM Syiem, Chief Engineer of the State Sports Council of Meghalaya, was the Chief Guest, and Vivek Syiem, IPS, Superintendent of Police (SP) of East Khasi Hills, served as the Guest of Honour. Other dignitaries included Ian A Lyngdoh, President of the Meghalaya Swimming Association, and BK Lyngwa, Former Principal Chief Conservator of Forests.

    South West Khasi Hills secured their only gold in the Individual Medley-200 m Men event, finishing with 10 medals. East Jaintia Hills and Eastern West Khasi Hills won gold in the Breaststroke 50m Men and Butterfly Stroke 50m Women categories, preventing East Khasi Hills from sweeping all gold medals. On day one, East Khasi Hills had won gold in all 11 events.
