  • Meghalaya detects 4 new COVID-19 cases

    The state has recorded 4 new COVID-19 cases and 10 recoveries on Saturday.

    Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said the new cases included 3 in East Khasi Hills district and 1 in South West Garo Hills district while the 10 patients who recovered from the viral infection include 5 from West Jaintia Hills, 3 East Khasi Hills and 2 East Jaintia Hills.

    So far, the state has detected a total of 13,727 COVID-19 cases out of which 122 are active cases, 13,459 recovered and 146 deaths.

    East Khasi Hills has 98 active cases, East Jaintia Hills 14, West Jaintia Hills 1, Ri Bhoi 2, North Garo Hills 3, West Garo Hills 2 and West Khasi Hills 2.

    On the other hand, of the 3,25,872 persons who have tested for COVID-19 in the state as on date, 3,12,145 were tested negative for the virus even as 61 persons are in institutional quarantine and 71 under home quarantine.

    There are 85,848 entrants from outside the state.
