Meghalaya CS to submit recommendations on report related to job reservation policy by Aug 31

Chief Secretary DP Wahlang will submit his recommendations on the steps to be taken by the state government in regards to the report of the expert committee on the State Reservation Policy, by August 31.
“The cabinet has entrusted the task of studying the report to me and I am submitting the report by August 31,” Wahlang told reporters on Friday.
“(After studying the report of the expert committee), I will give a complete recommendation and the steps to be taken by August 31,” he added.
On June 13, the state cabinet has entrusted Wahlang to study the report submitted the expert committee on the review of the state’s job policy.
According to cabinet minister Paul Lyngdoh, a summary of the voluminous and bulky report will be placed before the cabinet.
“The (full) report will then be placed on the table of the state Assemblly scheduled to be held in September, 2025,” Lyngdoh had informed further.
The expert committeee headed by Justice (Retired) Mool Chand Garg was constituted by the state government on September 12, 2023, to review the existing in reservation policy in the state following demands from several quarters.
