The North East Cricket Development Council (NECDC) held its 4th Achiever’s Night at Chintan Hall, Gangtok, Sikkim on Sunday.

The NECDC, which is a coordinating body of six North East states, honoured top performers in both men’s and women’s cricket in all formats during the recently-concluded BCCI domestic season.

Prem Singh Tamang, Chief Minister of Sikkim, was the chief guest while Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly Mingma Norbu Sherpa was the guest of honour. Also present were various cabinet ministers of Sikkim as special guests.

The Meghalaya Cricket Association was awarded a special prize in recognition for playing in the Elite Group of the BCCI 2024-25 season besides other individual awards.

Others present at the function were MKJ Mazumdar, Apex Council Member of the BCCI; Naba Bhattacharjee, President of the MCA and Co-Convenor of the NECDC; and T Subba, President of the Sikkim Cricket Association. The Presidents and Honorary Secretaries of all six state associations were felicitated by the chief guest and the MCA also felicitated the Shri Tamang with traditional Khasi and Garo attire and gifts.

The 10th NECDC conclave, chaired by Bhattacharjee, was held after the awards ceremony to finalise the guidelines of collaboration among the six states besides drawing the calendar of events and bilateral series among states.
