Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma has decided to drop three-time MLA from Raliang Comingone Ymbon from the council of ministers.

Ymbon is holding charge of Fisheries and Public Work Department (Building).

According to sources from the National People’s Party (NPP), the recommendation is awaiting the Governor’s approval.

First-time legislator from Mawhati, Dasakhiat Lamare, who is the son of the former Umroi MLA, Ngaitlang Dhar, is likely to be inducted as a new minister, the source said.

When contacted, Ymbon said that he is not aware of the development. “Nothing has come to me officially yet,” he said.

Asked, the minister said, “I have nothing to say on the decision.”

However sources close to Ymbon revealed that the MLA felt that the NPP has betrayed him as it has failed to honour its promises made when he joined and contested for the 2018 Assembly elections.

It may be mentioned here that Ymbon had resigned from the opposition Congress and joined the NPP ahead of the elections.

Meanwhile, sources also said that there is also a move to drop the PHE minister and HSPDP leader, Samlin Malngiang and in his place, party colleague and Mawkyrwat MLA, Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar will be inducted in the Conrad Sangma-led cabinet.
