Meghalaya CEO launches special summary revision of electoral rolls for 2024

The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Meghalaya, Shillong in collaboration with the Office of the District Election Officer, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong on Friday organised the State Level Function for the launching of Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls w.r.t 01/01/2024 as the qualifying date at the Conference Room, DC’s Office, East Khasi Hills, Shillong.

Addressing the function, Dr. BDR Tiwari, Chief Electoral Officer informed that the published draft photo electoral rolls are being shared with the political parties so as to enable them to raise objections on the inclusion of non bonafide citizens, if any, in the electoral rolls for the smooth conduct of polls, as political parties are the main and important stakeholders in the whole electoral process.

The Chief Electoral Officer along with East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner, RM Kurbah handed over the draft photo electoral rolls to the representatives of the various political parties.
