    SHILLONG: The budget session of the Meghalaya Assembly will now end on March 14 in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and bye-election to Selsella Assembly constituency.

    The decision to cut down the working days for the session from 10 to 5 days was taken at a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) which met here on Monday, a day after the election dates were declared by the Election Commission.

    Earlier, the BAC has fixed March 22, as the concluding day of the session.

    The elections to the two parliamentary seats Tura and Shillong and Selsella bye election will be held on April 11.
