The state BJP on Monday hit out at the Congress in the strongest words for giving a call to kill Modi.

It may be mentioned that a veteran Congress leader and former minister from Madhya Pradesh gave a statement asking people to get ready to kill Modi.

While disregarding the threat itself as trivial and without any credibility, the BJP condemned the Congress mind-set for making such a statement.

Party chief spokesperson, Edmund Sangma said that such a statement shows how desperate the Congress has become in the face of national shunning by the people.

“While the Congress is known to make demeaning remarks against our Prime Minister, this is a new low even for their low standards. The BJP’s call for a “Congress Mukt Bharat” is almost a reality today. People are fed of this not-so-grand old party which is owned by a particular family. Today the Congress has become insignificant and irrelevant in the country,” he said

Sangma said that because the party cannot interest the voters anymore, probably killing Modi is the only way they see to come back to power.

He said that it seemed like these were the discussions that were going on in the inner circles of the Congress party.

Sangma however said that Modi is no longer just our Prime Minister, and that in fact ‘Modi’ is now an idea which stands for progress, development and inclusiveness. Every Indian today, who seeks growth for the nation, is a Modi today. Sangma said, an idea cannot be killed.
