Over 400 people have been identified as contacts of two positive patients including a pharmacist, who had recently violated the quarantine rules.

Informing this here on Saturday, Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said 208 are the contacts of the pharmacist of which 200 are from Rangthong and Mawkyrwat area in South West Khasi Hills while eight are high risk contacts from Shillong.

It may be mentioned that the pharmacist at the Shillong Civil Hospital was caught breaking his quarantine by dropping his wife to Rangthong village.

Dr War reiterated that disciplinary action will be taken against him.

The DHS further informed that the other 204 are contacts of a tea vendor at Khyndailad near PUMA showroom, who had tested positive recently.

“Of these, four are identified as high risk contacts and 200 others are customers who visited the tea stall,” he said
