  • Meghalaya: 36 more tests COVID-19 positive, tally of active cases at 765

    Thirty-six more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday taking the total active cases in the state to 765.

    Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said out of this, 24 cases including 11 BSF troopers, 7 armed forces personnel and 6 civilians were detected from East Khasi Hills district, 7 from West Garo Hills that include 5 civilians and 2 BSF,  3 from Ri Bhoi district and one each from East Jaintia Hills district and South West Garo Hills district.

    He also informed that four more patients (3 BSF and 1 civilian in East Khasi Hills) have recovered from the infection today taking the total recoveries in the state to 683.

    Of the 765 active cases in the state, 443 are from East Khasi Hills of which 286 are civilians, 80 BSF troopers and 77 armed forces personnel, 191 from West Garo Hills, 103 from Ri Bhoi, 8 from North Garo Hills, 6 from East Jaintia Hills, 4 each from South West Garo Hills and West Jaintia Hills, 3 from West Khasi Hills, 2 from South Garo Hills and 1 from South West Khasi Hills.
