  • Meghalaya: 311 patients recovered from COVID-19, 54 new cases detected

    The state on Saturday recorded yet another highest single-day recovery of COVID-19 patients.

    According to the Director of Health Services (DHS), 311 patients including 25 health workers have recovered from the viral infection, taking the total recoveries in the state to 3,654.

    Of these, 234 are from East Khasi Hills district, 51 from East Jaintia Hills district, 16 from Ri Bhoi district, 7 from West Garo Hills district, 2 from West Khasi Hills district and 1 from West Jaintia Hills district.

    Dr War also informed that 54 more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, of which 31 were detected from East Khasi Hills, 12 from West Garo Hills, 6 from East Garo Hills, 2 from Ri Bhoi and one each from South Garo Hills, West Jaintia Hills and East Jaintia Hills.

    So far, the state has detected a total of 5, 212 COVID-19 positive cases out of which 1,515 are active cases, 3,654 recovered and 43 deaths.

    NEIGRIHMS yet to get license for plasma bank

    East Khasi Hills, where the state capital is located, has the highest number of active cases with 995 cases, followed by East Jaintia Hills with 224 cases, 125 in Ri Bhoi, 100 in West Garo Hills, 22 in North Garo Hills, 14 in South West Garo Hills, 13 in East Garo Hills, 8 in West Jaintia Hills, 7 in West Khasi Hills, 4 in South Garo Hills, and 3 in South West Khasi Hills.

    Till date, a total of 1,42,426 samples have been tested of which 1,37,214  were found to be negative. There are 40,875 entrants from outside the state.
