Meet held to boost police public relation

Continuing with its initiative of, “Reaching Out – Beyond The Call of Duty” the 6th MLP Battalion took part in a Legal Awareness Programme on Police Public Relations organized by the District Legal Services Authority, Ri Bhoi District today at the Dorbar hall of Nongthymai village, Umsning.

30 (thirty) female members of various Self Help Groups (SHGs) forming the Nangsanbha Village Organisation took part in this Legal Awareness Progamme. The programme was chaired by Kerdalin Jana, President and Phibalawan Makri, Secretary of the Village Organization.

The resource persons for the progamme was Franky Nongbet, Advocate member of the DLSA who spoke on F.I.R, Right of Arrested Persons, Right to Bail, Right to Legal Aid, and Lakador Syiem, MPS Commandant 6th MLP Battalion who spoke on Police Public Relations – Bridging the Gap.

The progarmme ended with a question and answer session where a number of doubts were cleared by the resource persons.
