    The Meghalaya Medical Services Association (MMSA) organized the 23rd scientific Conference cum General Body Meeting on May 3 at State Convention Centre Shillong.

    Addressing the gathering Principal Secretary of Health and family welfare department Government of Meghalaya, Sampath Kumar said lot of initiative that has come up in the state to strengthen Health sector in the state.

    He also said when we have that sense of belonging, we engage, perform and put more efforts. He appreciated the work that they have rendered for saving the lives of people in the state.

    He urged all the members of the association to put more efforts and design it in such a way that in future we will see Meghalaya as one of the best performing state.

    Prof C. Daniela, President of the Indian Medical Association (Meghalaya State Branch) spoke on the occasion as the Guest of Honour. He lauded the efforts of the association for organizing the conference and also welcomed government’s decision for setting up the state Medical College which, in the long run, will help address the shortage of doctors in the state.

    He also underscored upon the importance of collaboration between various stakeholders in the design, production and implementation of Health care services.

    The conference was attended by a huge number of doctors to update their knowledge on clinical medicine and public health.
