  • MDA to invest Rs 50 crore for building rural sports infra in next 3 years: CM

    Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said the state government is leaving no stone unturned in enhancing the sports infrastructure in the state. 

    “Despite the #Covid related disruptions, the Govt of Meghalaya is leaving no stone unturned in enhancing the sports infrastructure in the state. Rural Sports Infra with an investment of Rs 50 Cr will be developed in the next 3 yrs under the #RestartMeghalaya Mission,” Sangma tweeted on Wednesday. 

    Under the mission, he also informed that the construction of the PA Sangma Integrated Sports Complex in Tura has begun with an investment of Rs 125 crore. 

    The CM further said that the designs for Jawaharlal Nehru Integrated Sports Complex in Shillong, is being built at a cost of Rs 125 crore.

    He informed that a mega football stadium is also planned to be constructed at Wahiajer, West Jaintia Hills with an investment of Rs 25 crore.

    According to the CM, the state government is committed to building rural sports infrastructure in the next three years, with an investment of Rs 50 crore.
