Meghalaya Cement Limited (Topcem) on Tuesday terminated the services of two employees – Arun Kejriwal and Umesh Kumar with immediate effect.

The decision was taken following demands made by NGOs.

“This is to inform that our company has terminated the services of Arun Kejriwal and Umesh Kumar with immediate effect,” a statement issued by the HR Department of the MCL said.

On Monday, the Topcem management had also tendered a public apology and suspended the two employees for using unparliamentary words during a protest against the public hearing conducted for the expansion project of the company on August 24.
