Shillong Cricket Association (SCA) A are just five wickets away from an innings victory over East Khasi Hills in Zone 1 of the Meghalaya Cricket Association’s Inter-District U-23 Cricket Tournament in Nongpoh.

SCA-A won the toss and had no hesitation in batting on the first day today and they went on to score 276 all out in 51.4 overs. Abhishek Kumar (46) and Kush Agarwal (40) were the top-scorers, while Maialang War (3/36) and Wankitlang Nongpluh (3/56) returned the best figures for EKH.

Marremdor Kharsati then put in another good innings of 22 for EKH but the team were dismissed for 76, which meant that they could not avoid the follow-on. Lokesh Turaha claimed an impressive 6/14, while Abhishek Kumar took 2/9.

In their second innings EKH were on 15/5, still 185 runs behind SCA-A. Both Abhishek Kumar and Bipin Kumar finished the day with figures of 2/0 in EKH’s second innings.
