    A 25 year old man died after drowning while swimming at a waterfall in East Khasi Hills District.

     He was identified as (L) Hemangshu Deka  from North Guwahati near Indian Insitute of Technology (Permanent Address) Nagaon, Assam, police said on Saturday.

    Deka along with his friends had  visited Mawsawa Falls at Mawkma, East Khasi Hill but the deceased got drowned while he was swimming without life jacket, they said.

    The body was pulled out of the water with the help of people who locals who were present at the waterfall. 

    The body was shifted to Sohra CHC for observing necessary formalities.
