Man arrested in WJH for derogatory comment against EKH DC

A 38-year-old man was arrested on Saturday for posting a derogatory comment against the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills district.

Donlad Shylla was nabbed from Nongjngi village in West Jaintia Hills district by the East Khasi Hills Special Cell with the assistance of West Jaintia Hills police, SP Sylvester Nongtnger said.

A suo moto case was registered against Shylla on June 17. The accused had recently put up a derogatory comment against the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills on Facebook which has gone viral on all social media platforms.

Accordingly, the Cyber Cell of East Khasi Police was engaged to track the culprit involved in the case.

The SP informed that the accused person will be produced in court and further investigation is being made to  ensure that the case reaches its logical conclusion.
