Malik sworn in as new Meghalaya Governor

Satya Pal Malik was sworn in as the new Governor of the state on Wednesday night.

He was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Chief Justice of the High Court, Meghalaya, Biswanath Somadder at a ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan.

The swearing ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, Assembly Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh,  Justice HS Thangkhiew, Justice W Diengdoh, Director General of Police R Chandranathan and others.         

It may be mentioned here that Malik was recently transferred from Goa and appointed as Meghalaya governor by President Ram Nath Kovind. He replaced Tathagata Roy who completed his five-year tenure in May this year.
