Macdalyne Sawkmie to join NPP

Umsning MDC Macdalyne Sawkmie will formally join the National People’s Party (NPP) on Tuesday.

She will be welcomed by NPP national president Conrad K Sangma at the meeting to be held at the party office.

Sawkmie had decided to quit the People’s Democratic Front (PDF) to contest on an NPP ticket from Nongpoh constituency in the upcoming 2023 Assembly polls.

With this, the PDF has been reduced to zero in the 30-member Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC).
