    As the elections for the 14 Lok sabha seats concluded, the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), an ally of BJP-led NDA, on Monday asked all party workers to get ready for the upcoming panchayat and Autonomous Council elections in the state.

    This was decided in an extended executive meeting of the AGP held at its Ambari headquarters here with president and state agriculture minister Atul Borah in the chair.

    The meeting expressed gratitude to all leaders and workers of the party who worked hard to ensure the victory of 14 NDA candidates in the Lok Sabha elections. 

    The meeting also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for leading the NDA coalition from the front and participating in the campaign day and night preparing the election strategy and encouraging the candidates. 

    The meeting also thanked BJP national president JP Nadda, Assam BJP president Bhavesh Kalita, UPPL president and BTR chief Pramod Boro and coalition leaders and workers for their cooperation in the elections.

    The meeting discussed in detail the organizational measures to be taken at the grassroots level to further strengthen the organizational base of the party given the upcoming panchayat elections, council elections, assembly by-elections etc. 

    The meeting further decided to prepare a report on the performance of the party in the elections.

    AGP working president and state health minister Keshab Mahanta, senior leader Phani Bhushan Chowdhury, central committee vice-presidents, general secretaries, central executive members, central presidents, secretaries, district committee presidents, secretaries and observers appointed for various parliamentary constituencies in the state.
