    District Magistrate, East Jaintia Hills District on Saturday has extended the lockdown in entire District from 5:00 AM of 17th May 2021 till 5:00 Am of 24 May 2021 to restrict movement of person and vehicles except for medical purpose. essential services and vaccination.

    Transit movement of persons from Assam/Tripura/Manipur/Mizoram shall be allowed.

    Government offices in the District shall function with limited staff not exceeding 30% strength for Group ‘B’, Group ‘C’ and Group ‘D’ staffs.

    In-situ Construction works that does not involve movement of labour is permitted.

    Banks and post offices are permitted to open with limited staff.

    Only authorised home delivery services of essential goods is allowed with strict observance of the given protocols/advisories.

    All educational institutions shall be closed. However, on line classes shall continue as usual.

    Areas of Khliehriat East & West, whole of Ladrymbai, Sookilo, Umpleng, and Umkiang markets shall remain open on 17th, 19 and 21″ May 2021 from 9:00 Am up to 3:00 PM 8.

    50% of Essential, Hardware and Electrical Shops shall be opened on alternate basis as regulated by the Durbar Chnong/Market Committee.

    Roadsides dhabas/Tea shops services are permitted only take away services.

    Stand alone essential shops in localities having no COVID cases shall open to be regulated by the Waheh Chnong concern with strict observance of COVID protocols of social distance, mask wearing, cough etiquette, hand washing, etc.

    Any violation and non-compliance to SOPs will make the establishment liable for closure and any person (s) violated the lockdown restrictions shall be booked under section 51 (b). 52 & 54 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, section 3 of the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897, section 188 IPC and section 7 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1985.
