SHILLONG: The Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) on Tuesday wished that the Central government grant the inner line permit (ILP) for Meghalaya in the New Year.

Wishing the people of the state a prosperous new year, LJP state president Jamil Ahmed said, “I wish and pray that the Central Government grant ILP and full exemption from the CAA to the State of Meghalaya.”

He also wished that the Central Government roll back the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act 2019.

“The exercise of the NRC all over the Country as stated by the  Union Home Minister, is going to cost us dearly especially in the present economic crisis faced by the Country. I hope and pray that the Central Government will come to their senses and drop the idea of NRC in the entire Country.

I also hope and pray that the Central Government would leave their dictatorial attitude and consult all the States and other stakeholders before taking any decision that may affect the Nation,” Ahmed said.
