Landslide at Sonapur halts traffic on NH-06

Traffic along National Highway-06 came to a complete halt on Saturday after a landslide occurred in the Sonapur area of East Jaintia Hills. The incident disrupted movement in both directions, leaving several vehicles stranded.

Police, in an update on social media, said that clearing operations will begin shortly to restore road connectivity. The authorities assured that efforts are underway to ensure the highway is reopened at the earliest.

In the meantime, travellers have been strongly advised to take alternate routes until further notice to avoid inconvenience and ensure safety.
