    Meghalaya’s Revenue Minister, Kyrmen Shylla, inaugurated the new building of Rymbai Government Secondary School in Rymbai on February 29.

    The attendees at the event included Local MDC, F. Bareh, Deputy Commissioner of East Jaintia Hills District, A Baranwal; Additional Deputy Commissioner, JU Kharpuri, Joint Director of School Education and Literacy, LS Lyngdoh, In-Charge District School Education Officer of East Jaintia Hills District; P Dkhar, along with other government officials, traditional leaders, teachers, and students

    During his address as the Chief Guest, Shylla expressed his satisfaction with the upgraded infrastructure of the school and extended his congratulations to all those involved in its realization, including government representatives, members of the School Managing Committee, community leaders, and contractors. He also mentioned ongoing efforts towards elevating the school to a higher secondary level.

    Shylla underscored the importance of exploring employment avenues beyond traditional government jobs, urging attendees to embrace entrepreneurship opportunities. He highlighted government initiatives such as CM-ELEVATE, designed to foster employment across diverse sectors like agriculture, animal husbandry, tourism, and sports.

    Deputy Commissioner, A Baranwal expressed optimism regarding the future growth of the school and assured full support from the District Administration for its further expansion and development.

    Head Mistress Y Lamare presented a concise history of the school, tracing its origins back to 1960 and submitted a memorandum to Minister Shylla requesting additional upgrades such as a multi-purpose hall and a basketball court.
