The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Jaintia Hills successfully conducted the 4th day of its VKSA Campaign on June 2, despite three days of adverse weather. Three teams of scientists and officials from Agriculture and Allied departments covered 9 villages across 2 blocks, engaging 689 farmers.

Technical sessions addressed high-value crop cultivation, water conservation, crop resilience, organic farming, livestock health, FPO/FPC formation, agri-entrepreneurship, and use of modern technologies like drones and biofertilizers. Farmers were also briefed on Central and State schemes, including PM-Kisan, Apiculture Mission, and Floriculture Mission.

Informational leaflets on buckwheat, millets, Lakadong turmeric, fish rearing, and pest management were distributed. Experts from ICAR, College of Agriculture, and various departments led the sessions. Farmers appreciated the clarity and relevance of the content, making the campaign a success in promoting scientific farming practices.
