KSU pushes back 32 illegal migrant workers

Over 32 illegal migrant workers were detected and pushed back during a two-day checking conducted by activists of the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Mawlai Circle in Mawlai Iewrynghep and NEHU area, which concluded on Thursday.
Of this, 25 were detected in NEHU area and 7 in Mawlai Iewrynghep, KSU general secretary Eddie Malngiang said in a statement.
“We have decided to further intensify our checking against illegal influx so long as the government is yet to implement the inner line permit (ILP) and Meghalaya Identification Registration (Safety & Security) of Migrant Workers 2025 Amendment,” he stated.
