KSU mightier than DC or SP in West Jaintia Hills

The Blue Flags of the mighty Khasi Students Union greets the commuters on the entrance to the Toll Plaza located at Pasyih Ialong, West Jaintia Hills District since Monday.

The Toll Plaza has been under the physical occupation of the mighty Khasi Students Union West Jaintia Hills District for the past 24 hours and counting till now.

A group of 50 to 60 activists of the KSU Jowai Circle on Monday afternoon laid a siege and virtually captured the Toll Plaza under its possession and stopped collection of tolls and thousands of vehicles owners were delighted as they passed the Toll Plaza without paying the toll.

The Meghalaya Democratic Alliance Govt comprising the NPP, the UDP and other political parties through the district administration,West Jaintia Hills District has failed to maintain law and order and show its helplessness to safeguard the Toll Plaza which is a national property.

KSU West Jaintia Hills District President Laitphar Syngkrem on Monday said that the KSU has to resort to drastic action of shutting down the functioning of the Toll Plaza as the NHAI did not meet their demands of streetlight, footpath and maintenance of roads.
