The Khasi Students Union (KSU) on Wednesday filed an FIR against a facebook advertisement promoted by an alleged Hong Kong-based Begin Live Application.

In the FIR submitted to Criminal Investigation Department (CID) SSP Aditya Goenka, KSU general secretary Donald V Thabah said, “The Union is concerned about the growing numbers of young women/men falling into the trap of such activities that is happening in the internet and social media platform and also other similar apps that promotes to objectify women and minor girls as it might be an easy way for these developers to channelize them to the prostitution-like industry.”

This app has been developed in Hong Kong, by the address Rm906 Tower A, viking technology and business center, 93 Ta Chuen Ping Street Kwai C and the e-mail- [email protected] as shown in the Google Playstore, it added.
