Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) has opened admissions for its July 2025 session, offering over 50 programmes across undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate levels. In a major academic expansion, the University has introduced two new Master’s programmes in Sanskrit and Bengali, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science.

Staying true to its motto, “Education Beyond Barriers”, KKHSOU continues to be a vital platform for learners who face challenges accessing traditional education. From working professionals and homemakers to police and defence personnel, persons with disabilities, senior citizens, jail inmates, and lifelong learners, the university caters to a wide and diverse student base across Assam.

The University currently offers 11 Four-Year Undergraduate Programmes (FYUGP) in fields like Arts, Commerce, Computer Science, and Management, and 18 Postgraduate programmes, including M.A. in various subjects, M.Com, MBA, MSW, M.Sc. in IT and Mathematics, and Journalism and Mass Communication. A Master’s in Yoga is also in the pipeline, pending final UGC approval.

KKHSOU supports its flexible, learner-centric model through 337 study centres statewide, including 30 in district jails. Its tech-integrated instruction and inclusive pedagogy aim to remove geographical, economic, and personal obstacles to education.

Admissions for the July 2025 session are now open and will continue until August 30, 2025. Candidates can apply online from anywhere, benefitting from the University’s emphasis on affordability and accessibility.

With this new academic offering, KKHSOU reaffirms its role as a leader in open and distance learning in Assam—committed to ensuring no learner is left behind.
