On the occasion of the golden jubilee year of statehood, the Khasi Jaintia Christian Leaders Forum (KJCLF) has called upon the people of the state to work together for the promotion of peace and harmony in the state

In a letter to the Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, the Forum exhorts the government under his able leadership to strive for good and just governance which will uplift the lives of the poor, the unemployed, those threatened by communal discord in different places and by tension especially in the border areas.

The Forum remembers with admiration the aspirations of the previous generations for the attainment of a separate Hill State, and with respectful honor and gratitude acknowledges the sacrifice of those leaders and young people in the past for this achievement.

In this journey, much has been achieved, but there is so much more that needs to be done, it asserted.
