KHADC to examine the need to relook into the present status of primary schools

The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) on Thursday assured to examine the proposal to relook at the present status of the primary schools under its jurisdiction.

“The matter will be examined carefully by the executive committee,” Executive Member in-charge Education said while replying to a question raised by NPP MDC from Nongpoh Rona Khymdeit, who wanted to know if the EC has any intention to re-look at the present status of the primary schools vis-à-vis the Sixth Schedule to the Constitution of India.

She also assured that the EC will also examine the suggestions given by members on the need to extend financial assistance to the primary schools.
