KHADC reconstitutes select committee to examine inheritance of property Bill

The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) on Wednesday decided to reconstitute the select committee for examining the KHAD (Khasi Inheritance of Property) Bill, 2021.

Tabling the report on the matter in the last day of the council’s session, KHADC chief Pyniaid Sing Syiem said, “I beg leave to report that the Council in session has referred the Bill to the Select Committee, which has after convening several meeting has not been able to complete, as such required more time to examine the said Bill.”

“Moreover with the changing circumstances the members of the Select Committee may be re-constituted,” he said.

The re-constituted select committee will be headed by the CEM. The other members would include deputy CEM PN Syiem, leader of opposition TW Chyne, RV Lyngdoh and Charles Marngar.
