KHADC decides not to issue consent for BSF firing range in Ri Bhoi

The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has decided not to issue consent for land situated at Wahswad-Umsohlang, Shnat Raid Tynring for shifting of firing range for BSF in Ri Bhoi district.

This was informed by the Deputy Secretary to the Executive Committee, KHADC in a letter addressed to the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills recently.

“…I am directed to inform you that the executive committee, Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council had decided not to issue consent at this juncture from several stakeholders besides the non-issuance of NOC by the Syiem of Khyrim and his Dorbar,” it stated.
