    KHADC chief Pyniaid Sing Syiem on Friday allotted portfolios to the members of the KHDF-led executive committee keeping the general administration, finance, posting & transfer, establishment, appointment and others to himself.

    “Portfolios were accordingly distributed after the list of executive members was approved by the governor,” Syiem told reporters.

    Two Congress MDCs – Pynshngainlang N Syiem, who was appointed as deputy chief executive member, was given charge of Elaka administration, law and legal matters while Carnes Sohshang will look after development and education.

    The eight NPP MDCs were all given plum portfolios.

    Grace Mary Kharpuri was made in-charge of market (council market & other markets), information and technology while Victor Ranee will be looking after arts & culture, health & sanitation, labour clearance certificate and fisheries.

    Gigur Myrthong will take charge of trade and enforcement wings.

    The other EMs – Ryngkynsai Kharbuki was given council building, council assets, marriage and divorce, Teiborlang Pathaw – land & building byelaws, Alvin Khyriem Sawkmie – revenue collection and planning and Fantin J Lakadong – taxation, water resource and mines & minerals. 

    “…matters relating to appointment, transfer and posting of officers in all departments shall rest with the CEM,” Syiem said in a notification issued here.

    He added, “Furthermore, necessary consultation with the chief executive member or before the executive committee should be made in all complicated and important matters inconsistent with the collective responsibility of the EC…”
