Mahanta, who previously handled the health portfolio, has now been entrusted with additional responsibilities.

Now the chief minister will hold the portfolios of home, personnel, public works department, health & family welfare, medical education & research, indigenous & tribal faith and culture apart from directorates of library & museum and directorate of archaeology) and any other department not allotted to any other minister.

Meanwhile, the resignation of Parimal Suklabaidya was also accepted by Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, an official release here said.
