JSU demands govt to erect railing for safety of pedestrians in EJH

The Jaintia Students’ Union (JSU) on Friday urged the Deputy Commissioner of East Jaintia Hills to erect railing along the footpath for the safety of pedestrians in Ladrymbai and Khliehriat.

A delegation of the JSU Khliehriat Circle also met and handed over a memorandum in this regard to the DC for his necessary intervention.

The JSU said road safety is very important to ensure accidents are prevented. In the past, the two commercial areas of the district have witnessed tragic road accidents leading to loss of many precious lives due to absence of railing and other road safety measures.

“Therefore, we urge the government to immediately implement the railing system at the earliest so that any future road mishap can be avoided,” it added.
