    Appealing to the Jaintia youths to compete for the Meghalaya Civil Service (MCS) Examination, the Jaintia Students Movement (JSM) Central Body issued an ultimatum till March 11th, next to Meghalaya Govt for setting up Govt Coaching Centres for Civil Service Examination failing which they will agitate.

    According to President JSM Central Body LS Rymbai, they have submitted memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner West Jaintia Hills District and Deputy Commissioner
    East Jaintia Hills District Meghalaya, Khliehriat for setting up Govt coaching centres in Jowai and Khliehriat.

    The memorandum read the Meghalaya Public Service Commission on 11/2/2022 advertised the recruitment of Meghalaya Civil Service officers with a total vacancies of 30 posts.

    “It has been observed the numbers of Meghalaya Civil Services from amongst the Jaintia people of Jaintia Hills region is still less in comparison to its population,” the JSM observed.

    They also informed that a large numbers of candidates from Jaintia Hills region will be applying to compete for the Meghalaya Civil Service Examination.

    The JSM apprised the two DCs that the Meghalaya Public Service Commission is yet conduct the written examination of Meghalaya Police Service and the recruitment for Civil Service Prelims is also underway.

    In order to compete for the Meghalaya Civil Service, Meghalaya Police Service and Civil Service Prelims, the candidates requires proper coaching and expert guidances, the memorandum pointed.

    The number of Jaintia people who clear Civil Service Examination conducted by UPSC is very low till date and it is disheartening to accept this fact even after 50 years of Statehood, the JSM further observed.

    There is no coaching centre in Jowai or Khliehriat for preparing candidates for the above said examinations.

    The Jaintia Students Movement strongly desires that out of the total 30 posts of Meghalaya Civil Services, atleast eight posts should go to Jaintia candidates and this will be possible only if there is proper coaching and guidance.

    They also wish that a good numbers of candidates should clear the MPS examination as well as the Civil Service Examination.

    TheJaintia Students Movement demand the setting up of a Govt Coaching Centre for MCS/MPS/Civil Service Prelims in Jowai and Khliehriat for the local candidates.

    They also served a deadline till 5 pm of 11th March, 2022 (which is the last date for online application of MCS examination) for fulfulling the demand of setting Govt’s Coaching Centre failing which the organization will embark on the path of agitation.

    They also urged the seven MLAs of Jaintia Hills region to take up this matter with the Govt interest of their respective electorates.

      Government should setup the coaching center in jaintia hill especially for the upsc aspirants who actually interested for.
