    In pursuance to the Government order and in view of the unusual death of pigs in some parts of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh and in order to contain the spread of the disease within West Jaintia Hills District, the Deputy Commissioner in an order issued on 27th April, 2020 has banned transportation of pigs from outside the State into the District until further order.

    The Deputy Commissioner has requested the public to bring to the notice of the Block Development Officers and the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary officer of West Jaintia Hills in case of any sign of High fever and any abnormal mortality.
